The purpose of the ICH is to harmonise the tests used during the research and development of new medicines and the technical standards and requirements for product registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim of standardisation is to ensure that resources are deployed more cost-effectively and to eliminate unnecessary delays in the global development and availability of new medicines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The harmonisation process is complex and can take several years.
